GOVERNMENT FUNDING; THE LAWS AND REQUIREMENTS
As with any job, projects on government property or with government funding are subject to US rules and regulations. Not all requirements are the same, and not every security system can be installed on the job, so you need to ensure that you are meeting the requirements put forth.
THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN NDAA & TAA
NDAA
Section 889 of The John S. McCain National Defense Authorization Act prohibits the U.S. government from procuring video & telecommunication equipment from certain Chinese companies and their subsidiaries.
TAA
The Trade Agreements Act requires the U.S Government and affiliated entities to purchase end products that are U.S. – made or are made in countries that are recognized as supporting fair and open international trade.
NDAA & TAA
This equipment must meet the requirements of NDAA equipment prohibiting purchasing equipment from certain Chinese companies, as well as being made within countries designated under Trade Agreements Act fosters fair and open international trade.
DON’T BE FOOLED!
Just because the product might be made in a TAA compliant country does NOT mean that there is not a banned component, such as a specific chipset, somewhere inside the equipment. This means that while it is still TAA compliant, it is not NDAA compliant.
