Marinas and boat docks face unique security challenges due to their easy accessibility and the high value of the boats and equipment they contain. To deter crime, ensure safety, and protect these valuable items, specialized security measures, from surveillance cameras and access control systems to security patrols, are needed.
Optiview has decades of experience delivering specialized security solutions for marinas. We have the unified surveillance system you need to safeguard people and assets.
Marinas and boat docks are prone to security risks like theft and vandalism, as well as accidents, fires, harsh water, and saltwater corrosion. A robust security system can address the following common challenges of these spaces:
Optiview offers marine-grade and powder-coated surveillance cameras and enclosures that can withstand this type of environment for years.

Optiview offers hardware and software to provide surveillance, access control, and lighting to the whole property, along with free software that connects all components for an easy-to-use security system.
Optiview’s professional-grade hardware can be installed at the main marina building or on independent buildings, light poles, and dock pilings. Marine-grade aluminum enclosures and powder-coated aluminum cameras will stand up to the environment for years to come.

The main marina facility is hardwired, which allows for coax or IP network cameras to connect directly to the DVR or NVR recording system. The main building is also where the network connectivity head-end will be, with wireless bridges installed on the exterior for connectivity to more remote locations around the property.

Parking areas around the facility can be viewed by hardwired cameras that connect to a weatherproof recording system and a wireless bridge that enables live viewing and playback from the main office. Optiview carries license plate cameras and access control systems for doors and gates.

Boat docks, slips, and ramps are also monitored by hardwired network cameras, with edge recording and wireless, that transmit back to the main facility for live view and playback. These are typically custom-built solutions, like the WPIP2SD-PTZ.

All entrances and exits should have a license plate recognition camera (LPR) for recording video of when clientele enter and exit the property. Cameras along the perimeter of the property capture trespassers, thieves, or looters day or night with high-quality, clear video and full color nighttime recording.

Solar-powered platforms with 18- to 30-foot masts can be placed on remote lots such as overflow or event parking. The mobile, solar-powered platforms can be customized to have any combination of IP/network cameras, lighting, or communications equipment. Cameras can be viewed live with either a wireless bridge or a cellular modem device in place.

The Optiview mobile app and desktop OS allow for the addition of up to 256 cameras to be viewed in groups, monitor access control logs, and allow the viewer to take full high-resolution snapshots and video from their integrated device. The VMS and app are 100% free and support all Optiview cameras, recorders, and access control systems.
